North Jersey Customs will be hosting our 2nd annual open house. Last year was our first year for an open house, it was such a success that we decided to make it an annual event. We will have free food and drinks provided by Ronnie’s All American BBQ Co. Will we also have live music from the CLB band. Both participants were with us last year and did a great job. There will be give-a-ways and raffles for free stuff throughout the day. Come on down for the day or just stop by.

Schenectady Artbike Show

North Jersey Customs will be displying our custom motorcycles at the Schenectady Artbike show and exibit on October 4th. We will be displaying several custom bikes at the event along with several other custom bike builders showing off their custom choppers and lots of vendors as well. I just received this email from Michelle of Lamination Preservation today (Sunday Sept 27th)

” We are looking forward to having a great event and a fun time next Sunday!

This afternoon Scott and I spent the last six hours driving around Albany, posting and handing out fliers to promote the Schenectady Thunder ARTBIKE 2009.

We were tired, cold, wet, not feeling well and hungry. We had not eaten since breakfast.

Then we got a reminder what this REALLY is all about.

We were at Stewart’s on Central Av.. It was cold and raining outside. This week, ice cream is on sale for $2.79 per half-gallon. There was an older gentleman siting in a booth. He had all his belongings with him. There were bags of belongings in the booth, items on the table. He was unshaven. His hair was not trimmed. His coat was ragged. He was eating a half-gallon of ice cream ($2.79). The entire container. His beverage on the table was a two-liter bottle of soda. A half-gallon of ice cream and a two-liter soda …… was his food for the day and his purchase was keeping him dry and warm.

This Schenectady Thunder ARTBIKE 2009 event is to benefit the Schenectady Free Clinic and the Schenectady City Mission.

Please put in the extra time to help make the event a success………when you think you do not have the time to hand out a flier , tell someone about the event or put that extra effort in …..you could be in the situation this gentleman was in and have nothing but time.

All our situations are different, but we are all fairly fortunate. Count the blessings you have.

Please, do what you can. Spread the word. Take the extra time to help the event be successful. ”

This is a reminder of what the biker community is all about, helping out others in need, way to go Michelle!

Defiant

Here it is “Defiant” the winner of Fast Lane Biker Magazine’s “Tri-State Biker Build Off” held at the “Rally at The Rock” bike rally in Lake Harmony PA. Defiant was built specifically for the build off. The custom built bike took 3 months to complete. Bob Folz and Jonathan Pantaleon of Toontown Paint went to work on the one off “FooDogs” inspired paint scheme. Many late nights, (or early mornings in some cases), were spent fabricating and painstakingly machining one off parts for the bike. Thankfully our long hours paid off and we emerged the victor!

“Stricken” Gets a Partner For East Coast Biker Magazine

“Stricken” was chosen by the artist that brought it to life for a one of a kind photo shoot. Scott Avery and Jonathan Pantaleon have a history with “Stricken”, they both had a hand in creating the serpent. Scott Avery hand formed the sheet metal for “Stricken” and when it was completed, decided that it had taken the shape of a King Cobra. Together Jonathan Pantaleon and Scott came up with the Cobra themed paint scheme. Jonathan went to work designing the artwork and graphics layout being careful to have only suggestions of a Cobra and not to “over doit”. The result of Jonathan’s many hours airbrushing the tinwork is nothing less than spectacular!

East Coast Biker Magazine’s Publisher, Norm Keller approached Jonathan Pantaleon with the idea to airbrush a model to match the artwork that he had created for “Stricken”. So the scene was set, Jonathan would get his airbrush tuned up and go to work replicating the scales and graphics to match “Stricken”. Norm provided the photography work and put together the following pages for the August 2009 online issue on eastcoastbiker.net
